あらすじ
Long before the arrival of Homo sapiens, Neanderthals periodically crossed the great plains of Western Europe, from northern France to southern England, passing through the shores of Belgium and the Channel Islands. During the Middle Paleolithic, at the height of the last ice age, the North Sea was permanently frozen over and the English Channel was little more than a river that could be crossed on foot. Neanderthals lived in close relationship with this environment, which changed over time. What does archaeology teach us about their way of life? How did they evolve, live, and survive for more than 200,000 years until their extinction upon contact with Homo sapiens around 40,000 years ago? At spectacular sites in France and Great Britain, where recent discoveries have been made, French and British researchers take us on a journey to meet this other human, Neanderthal Man.
