Vincent Ogier, a twenty-year-old geology student from Paris, arrives in French Guiana for an internship at Cayenor, a gold mining company. With an immoderate taste for danger and unwavering nerve, the young engineer decides to join forces with Antoine Serra, the ‘godfather of gold’ who reigns over the remote village of Saint Elias. Vincent believes he has found a mythical gold vein: a mine abandoned 120 years ago, called ‘Sarah Bernhardt’... Serra has the skills required to exploit it. Seemingly paternal and friendly, Serra agrees and takes Vincent deep into the French Guiana jungle... In a matter of weeks, Vincent will go from intern to adventurer.
