Laura, a young Parisian chef, plans to go back to her native Cévennes to turn her family home into a guest house, with the help of her childhood friend Cassandra. When Cassandra is found dead in the cellar, Laura has to hasten her return. There she has to face the mountain and its silences as well as the insinuations and lies of the locals. Moving back to Les Magnans is difficult for Laura. Strange events and violent deaths clearly show that she isn't welcome. Luckily she can rely on Vincent, a forest ranger, and Mercédès and Marcel, the village shop owner and her son. They're keen for her to stay and bring the old house back to life. Laura's return to the Cévennes is an ordeal which forces her to face hidden family secrets and carry out her own investigation. What is behind these mysterious events?
