あらすじ
Disobeying the mores for young women of the XIV century, young Aliénor follows the dictates of her heart. Risking her life, she manages to cure the King of France who is afflicted with a fistula. As a reward, she asks the King to marry her to Bertrand de Roussillon. She has loved him since she was a child, and is convinced she deserves him more than anyone else. But Bernard refuses to consummate the marriage, and runs off to fight in Tuscany. Not to be dissuaded, Aliénor seeks out Bernard in Italy and takes on the identity of a young Italian woman with whom he falls passionately in love…
