Presentation of the 2025 edition
The third edition of MyMetaStories takes place from October 10 to November 2, 2025 online, and from October 10 to 12, 2025 in the Minecraft® universe. Supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA program and led by Unifrance, this one-of-a-kind festival dedicated to European cinema offers a dual experience: an international VoD film event and a collective immersion in a dedicated universe within Minecraft®, the world’s most popular video game.
The 2025 selection includes:
- 18 films from 11 European countries (6 feature films and 12 short films, combining live-action and animation, and spanning multiple genres) plus 1 animated series
- 10 works directed or co-directed by women
- 6 subtitle languages for feature films: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish
- 3 subtitle languages for short films: English, French, Spanish

MyMetaStories in Minecraft®
For three days, from October 10 to 12, MyMetaStories takes over Minecraft® to create an unprecedented virtual cinema complex.
Short films will be screened in dedicated screening rooms, each designed to reflect the film’s universe.
The player experience is enriched with exclusive mini-games inspired by the short films, along with an immersive quest retracing the key stages of filmmaking, punctuated with references to iconic European cinema landmarks (La Ciotat train station, the Trevi Fountain, the Potemkin Stairs, etc.).
The 2025 edition introduces two major new features:
- The first 4 episodes of the series Samuel, created by Émilie Tronche, will be screened in a dedicated theater, enhanced with an exclusive mini-game and the presence of the hero as an NPC
- The trailer for A Magnificient Life (directed by Sylvain Chomet, best known for The Triplets of Belleville) will be showcased in MyMetaStories World, in a dedicated theater, accompanied by a mini-game inspired by the film’s universe
Finally, more than 25 international influencers will engage their communities on Twitch, TikTok, and Instagram to make the festival even more interactive.
