The Sarajevo Film Festival was founded in 1993 by the Bosnian director Haris Pasovic. The fashion designer agnès b has largely contributed to this festival, like the creation of the Heart of Sarajevo, among others.
A festival recognized by the FIAPF, this event presents an extensive selection of films divided into around twelve sections. Its Official Competition is only open to films from the Balkans and south-eastern Europe, aiming to serve as a showcase for these productions. With around twenty French films selected each year—from a total of 200 titles presented—French cinema is well-represented in a number of sections, including Kinoscope, New Currents, and the festival's short film programs. An average of 100,000 spectators attend screenings.
The CinéLink Film Market presents around a dozen productions from the various countries in the region in its feature-length category. It also gives local movie industry professionals and filmmakers a chance to meet up and launch new project...

Information on short films
French short films can only apply for submission in the following programs (films produced in 2014-2015):
European Shorts: A European short film may be nominated for the Short Film Prize, which is awarded each year by the European Academy.
Non-Competitive Programs: Children's Program, TeenArena
Once your registration is completed, you must upload your film to the festival website.
All films shot in a language apart from English must have English subtitles. All films with dialogue that is not in Bosnian, Croatian, or Serbian, will be provided with subtitles in these languages by the festival's subtitling department.
Please provide a dialogue list in English. The festival does not return material sent for pre-selection.
