He discusses his latest film Untamable (Indomptables), now playing in cinemas in Quebec.
Set in Yaoundé, the film follows Commissioner Billong as he investigates the murder of a fellow police officer. As the case unfolds, the pressure of the investigation begins to seep into his personal life, pushing him closer to a breaking point.
Blending crime thriller with an intimate portrait of a man under strain, Untamable draws inspiration from Mosco Boucault’s documentary Un crime à Abidjan. The film premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.
