In Two Prosecutors, Sergei Loznitsa adapts Georgy Demidov’s novella into a chilling journey through the Soviet Union of 1937. When a single letter from a wrongfully accused prisoner miraculously escapes the flames and lands on the desk of a young prosecutor, Alexander Kornyev, his desire to uncover the truth drags him deep into the machinery of the Stalinist purges.
Premiered in Competition at Cannes, where it received the François Chalais Prize, the film is now in cinemas in Spain.
