French films at the 66th San Sebastián International Film Festival

This year it will be Louis Garrel who carries the French banner, with the presentation of his second feature, A Faithful Man, in the Official Competition at the 66th San Sebastián International Film Festival, which will take place from September 21 through 29.

Founded in 1953, the San Sebastián International Film Festival, a category A festival, is Spain's largest and most important film festival. Around twenty feature films compete each year in the Official Competition for the Golden Shell Award.
In the past twenty years, France has won this prestigious award three times, for What's Life? by François Dupeyron in 1999, Mon fils a moi / 仮題:私の息子 by Martial Fougeron in 2006, and 危険なプロット by フランソワ オゾン in 2012.

This year France is represented in the Official Competition by the feature A Faithful Man by Louis Garrel, as well as six minority-French co-productions that are also vying for the top award.

In the festival's many other sections, we can also note the selection of The Sisters Brothers by Jacques Audiard in the Perlak section and Meteorites by Romain Laguna in the New Directors section, where it will be screened in a world premiere.

The following members of the French artistic delegation have already been announced: the directors Jacques Audiard, Bruno Dumont, Louis Garrel, Romain Laguna, Michel Ocelot, and Virgil Vernier, and the actors Laetitia Casta, Alane Delhaye, Lily-Rose Depp, Zéa Duprez, Philippe Jore, and Bernard Pruvost.
