あらすじ
Nicolas, the son of a farmer, lives with his parents and his grandparents. His life revolves around his outings to night clubs and the daily tasks of herding cows. His father is deeply in debt, putting the farm in jeopardy, and Nicolas no longer knows what he wants to do. Then he falls under the spell of Maria, a beautiful woman a little older than himself, who lives on the mountain plateau with her two children. Meanwhile, back at home, problems build up, taking a turn for the worse: the family is obliged to give up the farm. Nicolas' attempts to find a solution meet with failure. It's then that a saying of his father's comes back to him: "A farmer won't die of hunger as long as he has a farm and seeds to sow." High up on the mountain, there's a deserted farmhouse. About
One night after the shoot, I walked past the stable, it was late, the cows
were lying down, their heavy bodies stretched out on the straw. It was
extraordinarily calm, peaceful. I stayed there and listened to their
breathing, breathing in the same air, thinking about nothing. It was as
though I'd been invited to share this calm, melt into it. My tiredness, the
day's worries all disappeared. This is what I try to transmit in the film.
