During the shoot, I was completely spaced out—like a zombie. The scenes were so powerful they were intimidatingly hard to play. They went against everything I knew how to do, all the reassuring day-to-day things. I never imagined that Laetitia could write a story so violent and cruel. She went straight to the edge and took the plunge, without so much as slowing down. Laetitia wanted to strip me bare physically and morally. And I was ready to let myself go totally. That was probably the very moment I felt closest to France Robert—I like the fact that she takes herself to the limit, that she believes only what she sees. At the risk of getting burned.
