Nicolas, the son of a farmer, lives with his parents and his grandparents. His life revolves around his outings to night clubs and the daily tasks of herding cows. His father is deeply in debt, putting the farm in jeopardy, and Nicolas no longer knows what he wants to do. Then he falls under the spell of Maria, a beautiful woman a little older than himself, who lives on the mountain plateau with her two children. Meanwhile, back at home, problems build up, taking a turn for the worse: the family is obliged to give up the farm. Nicolas' attempts to find a solution meet with failure.
