The jury of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival awarded one of its top prizes to the latest film by Alain Resnais, Life of Riley. French shorts were also honored this year.
Alain Resnais’s twentieth feature film Life of Riley earned prestigious honors at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, picking up the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize for "a feature film that opens new cinematic perspectives" at the event's closing ceremony held Saturday, February 15, 2014. The jury of the 2014 Berlinale was led by James Schamus, who was joined by fellow jury members Barbara Broccoli, Trine Dyrholm, Mitra Farahani, Greta Gerwig, Michel Gondry, and Christoph Waltz.
Concerning short films, France was honored with the Golden Bear for Best Short Film, awarded to As Long as Shotguns Remain by Caroline Poggi & Jonathan Vinel, which was produced by the GREC - Groupe de Recherches et d'Essais Cinématographiques.
