Released on February 14 by Helkon, “Brotherhood of the Wolf” attracted 212,000 Germany spectators during its opening weekend. Out in a 300-print release, the film climbed to 4th place at the box office across the Rhine.
These initial figures indicate that Christophe Gans’ film has got off to a successful start in Germany. Boosted by good reviews and a solid but not too ambitious release, “Brotherhood of the Wolf” immediately claimed 4th position at the German box office. It follows behind “L’Amour extra large,” by the Farelly Brothers (first week), “Monsters, Inc.”, and “Rush Hour 2”, all of which were given more substantial releases (500 to 800 prints). With an average of 705 spectators per print, “Brotherhood of the Wolf” steals the weekend’s second best average – which augurs well for a wonderful career ahead.
