Seven Sundays
あらすじ
Since arriving in Florida, Dodo is happy. He considers that to appreciate life in all its richness and diversity, one must be available and not have to work. Since he likes the company of women, several of them help him live. Notably Betty, who is also engaged to Jésus, a gypsy violonist who has left New York thanks to an inheritance and has settled in Florida with the firm hope of getting married. Betty's disappearance calls all this into question and alters their lives. Dodo and Jésus soon have the same goal : better integration with American society to become real Americans. But how can one do this when one has decided to do nothing ? All the difficulty of living well, without working and staying honest.

About
Jean-Charles Tacchella decided to shoot "Seven Sundays" in Sarasota, Florida, after falling in love with the place when he came to present his film "Dames galantes" at the 1990 French Film Festival. He visited the island of Anna Maria, looking for the places that Georges Simenon had lived in between 1946 and 1947. He didn't find Simenon's house but he found the ideal setting for the screenplay of "Seven Sundays". He then rewrote the story so that it would fit in with contemporary American reality.
