あらすじ
Cambodia : a peace agreement has now been signed. Far from Phnom Penh, the tiny village of Cheng Mean Chey is like any other and its inhabitants live according to nature and outside events... Twenty years of war, fatricidal hatred, famine, and exile have left their indelible mark. The villagers try their best to organize their daily lives in spite of the permanent threat of Khmer Rouge raids and the mines scattered around. In Cheng Mean Chey, everyday life goes beyond the bounds of fear.

Images in which the protagonists seem to carry out one long act of resistance... But beyond the emotion, the film raises a number of issues that are far from being resolved : that, for instance, of the 120,000 repatriates reduced to total poverty, or the 7 million buried mines that continue to wreak havoc in the land : 300 victims every month. However, hope and dignity appear in the faces that we meet. And what if we were deaming of a country destined to be reborn ?"
