あらすじ
When Pierre Feldman, a Paris surgeon, arrives in Port Djema, one of France's former flyspeck colonies in East Africa, he knows nothing about the brutal civil war between the Assad nomads and the ruling clan that is tearing the country apart. He has come to fulfil a promise that he made to Antoine Barrasse, a friend of his who was found murdered in Port Djema. Antoine was a doctor, like Pierre. He use to run a dispensary in the heart of rebel country, deep inside what is now a forbidden zone.

About
After years of relief work in the field, experiencing the world and its misery as a member of humanitarian organizations, there comes a time when you no longer know where you're heading. You skim over the misfortunes of others at top speed without even stopping. One cause replaces another, one form of suffering erases another. I felt the need to take a break. To step back and look. To use film to transmit some of the questions born of my contact with the world's wounds. Commitment? But to what extent? How do the people to whom we have given the role of victim see our way of playing the white-coated saviours? Why do we commit ourselves? The objectivity created by fiction was essential in my attempts to answer those questions. (Jacques Lebas, screenwriter)
