Rich, Beautiful and Cruel
あらすじ
This is the story of Rose, a little girl, who through the inquisitive eye of her camera seeks to understand the world of adults. It takes place in the confined location of a luxurious hotel which comforts you in the idea that everything is just appearances. Because of her confinement and her solitude she meets the women who surround her, to listen to their confessions. To communicate. Jay, the only male presence, is in charge of making her succeed in her rite of passage. A real quest for initiation, that is at once amusing and somewhat crazy, going from encounter to encounter, to open doors for her and permit her to grow up and approach that dream which makes you understand that freedom must be demanded as a right. That one must also live with others and not against them, find the path to men’s hearts and not try to abolish differences.

About
This film is a tribute to language, gossip and communication, which is, to judge by what is going on around us and elsewhere in the world, what we are lacking most today. The directing relies heavily on radical variations in lighting and sets, extravagant costumes, make-up and hair styling. This makes each role a true acting part for whoever plays it and a sure eye-opener for the audience, ranging from the reconstruction of a Fragonard painting to the metallic world of Paco Rabanne.
