あらすじ
When Marie-Pierre hitches a ride with Gaston, he can't believe such a gorgeous girl would have time for a guy like him. His greasy-spoon restaurant in a sleazy part of town isn't exactly a gourmet's paradise. But stay she does, and a great love story begins. No more peddling stolen goods and other petty scams for Gaston. No more scrimping to make ends meet. The money comes rolling in and good times are here. Gaston makes it big. His business is booming and the woman of his dreams is by his side. But fame and fortune can change overnight. What goes around, comes around. Will it come around for Gaston?

About
Ravalec the writer has made a moviemaker of himself, by choice and by necessity, converting his own words, from “Melody for a Hustler”, into pictures. He roams the borderlands of marginality, lovingly depicting its fissures and cunningly zooming in on the underside of a society crawling with char-acters in search of respectability. With his incisive tone, unkempt humor and harsh, raw, cutting style, Ravalec takes a new broom to French cinema. Money, grunge, survival tactics, dreams, fantasies, detours up the alleys of perversions blatant and covert, redemption and greed all rub shoulders, fueling the movements and actions of his frantic, anchorless, endearingly washed-up heroes: a mind-blowing Yvan Attal and a feisty Virginie Lanoue.
