あらすじ
At a fun fair in Marseille, Suzy (Zabou), a young woman who runs a lottery stall, gets into a fight with a jealous and aggressive carnie. She knocks the man unconscious and flees. In Paris, Cécile (also Zabou), the wife of the famous fashion designer Thierry Monttino (Bernard Giraudeau), strangely resembles the young woman from the fun fair—same face and same figure. But Suzy dresses in day-glo yellow and sneakers, has wild red hair and speaks with a thick southern accent, whereas Cécile is elegant, upper-crust, and has perfect diction.

"The plot basically hinges on lies. All the characters in this story lie: the wife lies to her husband (whom she deceives) and her lover (whom she thinks is crazy); the lover lies to his friend (whom he is cuckolding), then to his mistress (whom he thinks in crazy); the husband lies to both while developing his stratagem, and Suzy lies by playing the wife to the lover. Comic effects spring from the strong character roles: the artsy husband aloof from practical considerations suddenly turns out to be skillful and clever; the handsome but cowardly hunk of a lover totally loses control of the situation; the curt wife is a social climber while her twin sister—young, slangy and spontaneous—becomes the perfect tool of the scheme by impersonating the upper-class wife.
"Although the story is realistic, the principle isn't. So the illogical, crazy, outrageous side of the basic premise has to be maintained. Once the premise is accepted, the action unfolds with clock-work precision. Laughter is also sparked by the fast, thriller-like pace, with lots of emotion, of course—this is above all a love story!"
