あらすじ
Faustine, 18, knows little about Bernard, her father who was killed in an unexplained accident when she was just a child.
She can barely recall those few July days, the last that they were to spend together, at Paquerolles. To uncover the truth, she gets together with the only friend of his that she knows, Loïc…
Together, they’ll reconstruct the last few days of this man’s life. Apparently strong and sure of himself, he was in fact upset, caught in a trap, and eventually completely thrown off track by the arrival of a strange, young woman, Alice.
They had been in love, madly so, despite the fact that she was just a kid… And Alice hasn’t changed, still obsessed about this first wild love. The meeting with Loic makes the past rise to the surface, a past almost intact…
Overcome by her crazy determination, he lets himself be swept towards a mysterious meeting, just like it was in the passionate tale that has left its mark on both of them.

About
I wanted to make a movie as hypersensitive as physical passion. A movie about atmosphere, frisson, sound. To create that heady, dizzying, burning sensation. The obsessive, trance-like state that grips you. For that, I needed a landscape of sun and sea, like Greece, the land of tragedy. In order to get an impression of heat and cold, of absolute bliss and misery.
Bruno Nuytten, director (excerpt from an article in “Le Figaro,” May 31, 2000)
