The experimental virus developed by the all-powerful Umbrella Corporation has destroyed humanity, transforming the world's population into flesh-eating zombies. Fleeing the city, Carlos, L.J., Claire, K-Mart, Nurse Betty, and a few other survivors have taken to the road in an armored convoy, hoping to find other non-infected human beings and to reach Alaska, their last hope for an area protected from the virus. They're accompanied, from the shadows, by Alice, a young woman used by Umbrella as a guinea pig for horrendous biogenetic experiments. The modifications these made to her DNA have given her superhuman capacities. The group is observed by Dr. Isaacs, hidden in Umbrella's laboratory. He's ready to do anything to find the creature who represents the ultimate accomplishment of the firm's research, the only person who makes the development of a remedy possible. He needs Alice. If they want to have any kind of chance at all, they survivors must escape both the living dead who overrun the country and the Umbrella Corporation.
For Alice and her companions in adversity, the battle is only just beginning.
