Kings For a Day
あらすじ
In 1989, following the fall of the Berlin Wall, Roman brings his brother Edek from Warsaw to Paris where he promises him a good life. After a few years of odd jobs, Roman makes one last attempt to try to avoid going back to Poland. He passes Edek off as Mr Nielsen, an Icelandic film director, at the first Reims International Film Festival. Despite his initial reluctance, Edek finally plays along. He meets a famous star, Elisabeth Adams, who asks him to direct her next film and he wins the top prize at the festival. When the real Nielsen turns up, he sets the record straight and disappears with Roman. Elisabeth catches up with them in Los Angeles and takes them to Hollywood.

About
"The lights have just come back on, the audience is on his feet, the whole team steps onto the stage to thunderous applause : April 18, 1997, Corvin cinema, Budapest, the first official screening of he film abroad, organized by Unifrance. Afterwards came Moscow, Montreal, Shanghai and many other places where the silver screen is celebrated.
Flashback : almost ten years earlier, a young Polish actor, Mariusz, gave us a ten-page synopsis. We immediatly wanted to make the film but it took seven years to set up three first films in one :
- Francois's as a director,
- Mariusz's as main actor,
- and finally my first production for the cinema.
Today, the dream has become reality. Life is cinema !
