JEAN-FRANÇOIS ABGRALL, now director of a detective agency, was a police officer in Brest in 1989. At the time, he was in charge of solving a crime committed on a beach. His investigation led him to FRANÇIS HEAULME, then considered a simple marginal figure moving from one Emmaus hostel to another... It took Abgrall three years to secure the arrest and indictment of Françis Heaulme. After questioning him several times, he soon became convinced that the crime he was investigating was not the first. He then followed a trail leading to Heaulme, a serial killer who had been committing bloody murders for eight years.
