The "Wolf " devours the Korean box office
For its first major international release, "Brotherhood of the Wolf" has taken the Korean box office by storm.
Distributed by Jay Net (credited with the 170,000 admissions scored by "Pola X" in 1999), Christophe Gans' film has just broken the 500,000 spectators barrier in its third week on the screens. With 56 prints in circulation in its opening week (and currently remaining at 44 in its third week), "Brotherhood" has stood its ground against Steven Spielberg's "Artificial Intelligence A.I." as well as "Romantic Girl" (3 million admissions to date), current mega-hits in Korea. After clocking up 450,000 admissions with "The Crimson Rivers" at the beginning of the year, French cinema has offered up another hit film, ensuring that movie enthusiasts remain in the Arthouse theaters to see "The Taste of Others," which has attracted 100,000 spectators.
