Olivier Assayas discusses his latest film 'The Wizard of the Kremlin', selected in competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, starring Paul Dano and Jude Law.

The director discusses his adaptation of Giulano da Empoli's novel, which describes Vladimir Putin's rise to power and the early days of his reign through the fictional character Vadim Baranov, and how Putin's authoritarian methods foreshadow contemporary politics.
Assayas also evokes his casting choices, selecting Paul Dano and Jude Law to play Baranov and Putin.
